AWEA's Gohn: Wind firms would invest billions in Ohio with relaxed zoning
The wind energy industry would invest billions of dollars in Ohio's wind industry if state legislators make zoning rules more favorable for wind farms, said AWEA Eastern Region Policy Director Andrew Gohn. He praised the Ohio Senate's effort to update the legislation and expressed optimism that the lawmakers would complete the task.

PTC phaseout accelerating Wyo. wind boom, says expert
The phaseout of the wind energy Production Tax Credit is accelerating wind development in Wyoming, says Wind Energy Research Center Director Jonathan Naughton. He expects the state to add up to 5,000 megawatts of new installed wind capacity in the next five to seven years.

Senvion said it will install a 3.6-megawatt turbine at its RiaBlaes turbine blade manufacturing site in Portugal, providing enough energy to meet 100% of the plant's electricity needs. "If we want the world to go green, we have to be part of the solution in more ways than one, we have to be an example," notes Senior Vice President for Global Blades Paulo Silva.
