25% US tariff on Chinese wind sets may increase costs, says observer
A proposal that would levy a 25% tariff on wind sets imported from China may increase project costs, especially because turbine sets account for more than half of the cost of a wind farm, says University of Texas Energy Institute postdoctoral fellow Joshua Rhodes. About 25% of all wind sets imported into the US last year came from China.
