Analysis: Trump order to repeal CPP hasn't hindered renewables
US firms have invested almost $30 billion in wind and solar development since President Donald Trump called for the Clean Power Plan's repeal earlier this year. Bloomberg New Energy Finance Analyst Amy Grace said utilities and companies will continue to embrace low-cost wind and solar and the outcome of the CPP has no bearing.

Editorial: Congress must continue wind, solar tax credit phaseouts
Congress must reject Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt's proposal to end the wind energy Production Tax Credit early and instead move forward with the planned phaseouts, writes the editorial board of the Lincoln Journal Star. "Cutting the tax incentives early would no doubt hamper the ability of Nebraska and the U.S. as a whole to produce clean energy," it writes.

N.J. must embrace offshore wind, clean energy, say observers
New Jersey must transition to a clean energy economy powered by renewables like offshore wind if it wants to remain environmentally and economically sound in the years to come, write New Jersey Work Environment Council Executive Director Dan Fatton and Board Member John Shinn. "Moving forward with offshore wind is an important piece of the state strategy we need for mitigating climate change, a looming threat to our coastal state," they write.

Okla. lawmakers consider tighter rules for turbines near military sites
Oklahoma lawmakers heard testimony Tuesday on whether the state needs stronger rules for wind development within range of military installations. The Wind Coalition and other advocates said stricter rules are unnecessary and that the industry is willing to work with both the state and military to ensure turbines don't interfere with military training.

Studies: No impacts on tourism from Md. offshore wind
Earlier this year, Maryland greenlit two offshore wind projects that would establish the state as a clear leader of this new ocean energy resource. Since then, some observers have expressed concern that the wind farms could impact tourism in Ocean City, where the turbines would be slightly visible from the shore. But a new study and survey show no cause for concern. Read more.
