Deepwater answers RFP with 144-MW offshore wind project in Mass.
Deepwater Wind has responded to a request for proposals to add clean energy in Massachusetts by submitting a bid for a 144-megawatt offshore wind farm off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, said the company. The proposal, which will compete with clean energy projects from Emera, TDI-New England and other firms, also includes alternate scenarios for 288-MW and 96-MW versions of the wind farm.

Analysis: Coal, nuclear can't catch up with wind, solar pricing
The cost of wind and solar continues to decline and has reached the point where other energy sources, such as nuclear and coal, simply can't compete, writes Zachary Shahan. He argues that the Trump administration, the Republican Party and the Energy Department should pay attention to these economic trends and that embracing them would lead to growth quicker than trying to revitalize older sources.
