Wind has always been a logical choice for Kansas, and now so more than ever due to the fact that Westar Energy has enough resources to draw more than 50% of its annual electricity needs from renewables, writes the editorial board of The Salina Journal. "The growing effort to produce and consume more energy from renewable sources is part of our future, and Kansas and the country would be wise to accept, rather than resist, this pragmatic and cost-effective way to meet our energy needs," it writes.
