AWEA: 70% of voters have a positive outlook on wind
Seventy percent of registered voters have a positive impression of wind development, according to the American Wind Energy Association. "Candidates running for office on both sides of the aisle in this important election year should take note: The more wind farms we build, the stronger support from US voters grows," said AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan.

Kiernan: Installed wind capacity, public support grow
US installed wind capacity has tripled over the past eight years -- a trend that is reflected in growing public support for the low-cost energy source among both Democrats and Republicans, writes American Wind Energy Association CEO Tom Kiernan. "Wind's strong growth is expected to continue in the coming years, as we're on track to quadruple by 2030 when we can supply 20 percent of the country's electricity," he writes.

Grassley: Wind to remain strong regardless of election

The US wind industry is in a strong place and will continue to grow regardless of the outcome of the 2016 presidential election, according to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. He said he has no reason to believe Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would try to do away with wind, but that he's prepared to challenge any president that would threaten the industry.

TVA considers PPA with Clean Line transmission project
The Tennessee Valley Authority is considering an offer from Clean Line Energy Partners to acquire some wind power from a 4,000-megawatt, $2.5 billion line that could pass between Oklahoma and Arkansas. Clean Line founder and Executive Vice President James Glotfelty said that if the TVA agrees to the deal before the end of the year, then the project would qualify for 100% of the wind energy Production Tax Credit.

Opinion: Iowa most successful US state for renewables
Ample space, great wind resources and pro-wind policies are a few of the reasons that Iowa is the most successful state in the US in terms of wind and other clean energy sources, writes Daniel Gross. He argues that MidAmerican Energy's Wind XI project could help the state continue its transition away from coal generation.

GE Renewable touts potential of floating offshore wind tech
Floating offshore wind technology makes it possible to build projects farther out to sea and away from other challenges, like unpredictable weather patterns and storms, according to GE Renewable Energy. "Floating wind farms are very innovative and can be a crucial part of the energy mix of the future," said Strategy and Business Development Coordinator Leonore Petit.

Policies could cost Ohio 4 wind farms, says observer
Anti-wind policies could cost Ohio four wind farms currently under consideration by Apex Clean Energy, according to this analysis. Observers say if the state fails to modify its policies, it could lose out on investments worth millions of dollars, plus hundreds of jobs that would result from large-scale wind farms.

7 things you should know about recent polling results and wind energy
Wind power crossed the 75 gigawatt installed capacity threshold this summer, meaning there's now enough wind power in the US to supply electricity for 20 million homes. As AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan recently stated in his Huffington Post column, "sometimes the more you know about something, the more you like it. And that's the case for wind energy." That really seems to be true when looking across findings from a number of recent polls. Here are the top seven things you need to know about each one.
