Report: Top 25 wind companies control 41% of global installed wind capacity
The 25 largest wind farm owners in the world controlled projects with a combined capacity of 170 gigawatts -- equivalent to 41% of the world's total installed wind capacity -- at the end of last year, according to Make Consulting. The report said 2015's results showed a decline from both 2014 and 2012 levels, which highlights a fragmentation in global ownership as a growing number of smaller companies continue to enter the market.

Analysis: US, Europe take different approaches to offshore wind growth
The US and Europe have huge potential for offshore wind development, but have taken different approaches to getting their respective industries off the ground, according to this analysis. One of the biggest differences between the two, say observers, is that offshore wind is the natural choice for European developers due to the continent's limited space for land-based projects.

Opinion: Mass. energy bill represents compromise on offshore wind
A new energy bill in Massachusetts represents a compromise between those that want to rapidly ramp up offshore wind and those that want to do it slowly so as to avoid rate increases, according to this analysis. Observers say that Massachusetts State Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matthew Beaton developed the plan with three goals in mind: grid reliability, stable electricity rates and meeting the state's goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
