Dear Daniel,

Take Action: Thank the Obama Administration for Cleaner Cars.

Moments ago, EPA's new fuel economy standards were finalized.

This is big news. Our cars account for 40 percent of all U.S. oil consumption and nearly 20% of all U.S. carbon pollution. But now, all of that can change.

Voice your support for these new rules! Thank the Obama Administration for finalizing these standards.

These new standards will reduce oil consumption by 2.2 million barrels a day, and reduce carbon pollution by more than 6 billion metric tons. Not to mention that it will save car owners $8,000 in fuel costs over the lifetime of a vehicle.

Americans want cleaner cars. And 41,065 EDF activists like you took the time to send comments in support of these standards. Your activism has paid off in full!

There is still much work to be done to reduce our dependence on oil and our dangerous carbon emissions, but today's announcement is an important step forward.

That's not leadership. And it's not a way to solve differences between countries about pollution.

Please thank President Obama for standing up for better gas mileage, less oil, and a safer climate future!

Heather ShelbyThank you for your activism and support,
